Bozell to Reid: Stop Lying and Start Letting the Senate Vote!December 27, 2012
ALEXANDRIA, Va. – ForAmerica Chairman L. Brent Bozell III today released the following statement on the negotiations over the fiscal cliff.
“In a stunning display of deceit and hypocrisy, even by Washington standards, Senator Harry Reid is trying to blame the U.S. House for inaction on the fiscal cliff. Reid blames the House for not taking up a bill passed by the Senate, but this ignores reality and he hopes we will all forget his gross malfeasance as the Majority Leader of the U.S. Senate. It is Senator Reid who has refused to bring any of the budgets passed by the House to the floor of the Senate for over 3 and a half years. It is Senator Reid who has failed to bring a single bill setting spending priorities and appropriating government funds to a vote last year. The House has passed literally dozens of bills in this Congress that Reid has refused to bring to the Senate floor, which means Reid has no credibility in discussing these matters, much less criticizing anyone. His ‘leadership’ is a joke.
“As John Adams once said, ‘Facts are stubborn things.’ It’s time Harry Reid stopped lying and started letting the Senate vote!”
