ALEXANDRIA, Va. – ForAmerica Chairman L. Brent Bozell III today released a statement regarding the promotion of IRS staffer Sarah Hall Ingram, who led the IRS’ Tax Exempt/Government Entities Division during the agency’s targeting of conservative groups, to head the IRS “Affordable Care” Office.

“If there is any sliver of respect for the American people left in President Obama’s administration, he will immediately fire Sarah Hall Ingram. There is no place inside the IRS for such an ideologically driven individual, one of the key individuals in charge of handing out punishment to groups that did not support the President’s far left agenda.

“It is becoming more and more clear that the Obama Administration has politicized the IRS to unprecedented proportions. Ms. Ingram even received over $100,000 in pay off for work on behalf of this effort. The President and Jack Lew clearly knew about Ms. Ingram and should have fired her immediately. Now that she has been exposed publicly, there are no more excuses.

“Furthermore, Congress should not provide the funding for any additional hiring of IRS Obamacare agents. The Obama Administration’s IRS is completely politicized and cannot be trusted to oversee the American people’s personal health records.

“Instead of providing funding, Congress should be holding hearings to investigate this unprecedented level of government corruption, and illegal abuse of government power.”

Republican Senator Dean Heller (NV) is preparing to offer a bill in the US Senate that would prevent the IRS from hiring new agents for enforcing ObamaCare. This comes in the wake not only of the revelations that the IRS has been targeting Conservative groups, and other groups that may stand in the way of President Obama’s agenda, but also after the IRS has been sued for stealing medical records from 10 million Americans.

In the wake of these scandals, and the new questions over whether the IRS leaked confidential documents, many are wondering if the IRS can or should handle ObamaCare. Of course ObamaCare is already incredibly unpopular and given the sheer scope of the intensely overreaching legislation, how can a government agency that can’t even properly perform its intended duties be counted on to enforce an overly complex, unprecedented law that will affect every American?

This should all stand as a reminder that the federal government is ill-prepared to run the functions it has already been tasked with. Adding ObamaCare to the mix is only asking for more disasters, and next time it could affect your medical care. It is time to stop these symbolic repeals of ObamaCare and start attaching the repeal to any bill that moves. Republicans owe it to the American people to force the issue on this.

Last week we were outraged, albeit not surprised, to learn that conservative groups have been under attack by the Internal Revenue Service. To make matters worse, the IRS inspector general’s report out this morning proves that the IRS is guilty of targeting conservative groups for even longer than originally expected. The report shows that the IRS began targeting groups that used the phrases “Tea Party,” “patriots,” and “9/12” all the way back in March of 2010.

We’ve also learned that the IRS targeted pro-Israel groups and those involved with “educating on [the] Constitution and Bill of Rights.” It’s not shocking that Obama and his liberal allies view groups that educate Americans on their Constitutional rights, and groups that support Israel as dangerous targets. It is shocking that President Obama has yet to apologize for this outrageous behavior by his administration.

Maybe it’s because … he’s not sorry. America deserves better.

Just three weeks after the U.S. Senate’s rejection of an overreaching gun control measure, two new reports were released yesterday showing that gun violence is down. Gun homicides are down 39 percent since the 1990’s, and non-lethal gun crimes are down 70 percent. The crazy thing is you wouldn’t get that impression by the way the main stream media covers the gun debate.

The disconnect between the facts and the way the media portrays gun violence in the U.S. can be seen in the Pew Research study released yesterday which shows 56 percent of Americans thought the gun crime rate had risen since the 1990’s, and another 26 percent thought it stayed the same. Combine these two figures and you have 82 percent of Americans, the vast majority, who are completely uninformed when it comes to the gun control debate in this country.

It seems no wonder that Obama and his gun control advocates claim that the vast majority of Americans want more gun control; they know they have been winning the battle to demagogue gun ownership.

Although not surprising to lawful gun owners, it will likely come to a shock to anyone tuned in to the main stream media that this trend in falling gun crime rates is actually occurring at a time when gun ownership is on a rise. Gun ownership is now at its highest level in this country since 1993 according to the most recent Gallup poll. Despite what anti-gun liberals like President Obama and Mayor Bloomberg want you to believe, the numbers clearly show that more guns do not equal more crime. It’s time that the media arm Americans with these facts, so that we can demand answers from those who want to infringe on our second amendment rights.

Reports are surfacing that U.S. Special Forces were purposefully withheld from helping Americans, including slain Ambassador Christopher Stevens, during the Benghazi attacks on September 11, 2012.

This information comes from Amb. Steven’s former deputy Gregory Hicks. If true, this would directly contradict the Obama administration’s public statements that assistance couldn’t have made it to Benghazi in time.

Hicks also told congressional investigators that he got a phone call from Amb. Stevens shouting “We’re under attack, we’re under attack!” Hicks says he then called Washington and “never reported a demonstration, [he] reported an attack on the consulate.”

Hicks said in an interview “in my personal opinion, a fast-mover flying over Benghazi at some point, you know, as soon as possible might very well have prevented some of the bad things that happened that night.”

Hicks’ account of events is backed up by Mark Thompson, Deputy Coordinator for Operations in the State Department’s Counterterrorism Bureau. Thompson also explains that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton purposefully cut the Counterterrorism Bureau out of the loop during the terrorist attack in Benghazi.

To add insult to injury, Hicks’ lawyer is now hinting that Obama’s State Department is threatening Hicks over his desire to come forth with the truth. This intimidation must stop! Instead, we need to focus our efforts on getting to the bottom of what happened on that day through a full and fair investigation.

The Heritage Foundation is out with an update to their 2007 study on immigration reform, and it is not a bright spot for the so-called ‘Gang of 8’s’ immigration proposal.

The study examines the economic impact of giving amnesty to all illegal aliens living in the United States. It takes into account the taxes these freshly minted citizens would be paying, the benefits they would be receiving from the government, and a multitude of other factors used to examine the high cost of amnesty as an immigration solution.

The Heritage study finds that unlawful immigrants given amnesty would generate a lifetime fiscal deficit of $6.3 trillion. That’s $6.3 trillion on the taxpayer’s bill, and $6.3 trillion the United States simply cannot afford.

It’s hard to comprehend how anyone who is aware of this cost can justify the ‘Gang of 8’s’ proposed immigration bill, a bill which has been called nothing more than a “bold amnesty plan.” As former Senator and current Heritage Foundation President Jim DeMint said yesterday on ABC’s This Week, “if people read the bill, [it will] be blocked.”

Clearly, the bill is not perfect as written. The good thing is, right now, this is just a bill. Thankfully, we have cooler heads in Congress now than when ObamaCare was passed. Unlike 2010, lawmakers are being encouraged to take their time, read the bill in its entirety and be very deliberate in their decision making.

You would be hard-pressed to find anyone who thinks immigration is an issue that can be ignored. Most of us can agree we need a system that is fair to law abiding citizens. And of course, we need a bill that won’t cost us money that we just don’t have. This Heritage study is a good resource that ought to play an important role in the immigration deliberation taking in Washington and throughout the nation.

The Pentagon recently released a statement to Fox News declaring that “religious proselytization is not permitted within the Department of Defense,” and confirming that punishment can include court–martial. This means the men and women of the armed forces, who took an oath to uphold the Constitution, are restricted from speaking to their fellow soldiers about their faith. This would also effectively end the Champlain position in all branches of the military, a position that has been around since George Washington’s Continental Army.

In case the Pentagon and the Obama administration haven’t read the Constitution, they may want to go and check out the First Amendment. The First Amendment guarantees the right of all Americans to free speech and to the free exercise of religion. This isn’t a matter of Christians vs. non-Christians either, this policy would also affect Jews, Muslims, and soldiers and Chaplains of every faith.

Crazy how much simpler life gets when you cut out the middle man and a business goes back to relying on the relationship between ownership and employees. The results speak for themselves – jobs and Twinkies – is there anything more American than that?

Rather than forcing repeal of ObamaCare, they are discussing exempting themselves and their staffs from it. Our message is clear: stop these secret meetings immediately and get to work defunding and repealing ObamaCare so everyone, not just you and your staff, can be freed from its burdens.”

Inexplicably, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) is attempting to put $4 billion into the already fledgling ObamaCare program known as the Pre-Existing Conditions Insurance Pools (PCIP). This program sets up high risk pools that cover participants until insurance plans are offered through the law. This goes against what Cantor and the rest of House Republicans’ promised: to defund ObamaCare and repeal and replace the monstrosity with a truly free-market solution.

What is worse, along with the money, Cantor is pushing to amend the PCIP to allow enrollees to be instantly eligible for coverage. But think about it, if one can simply enroll at any time, and instantly be covered, than why would anyone sign up, and pay for health insurance until they actually need it? This means we would, in practice, be providing socialized medicine. You wouldn’t need to insure yourself; you could simply sign up for medical coverage, subsidized by the government, when you need it.
