Let's Cut Some Spending: Millions to teach critical race theory

Remember the absolutely critical Omnibus spending bill Congress muscled through at the end of last year? It was 4,000 pages that no one read that cost taxpayers $1.7 trillion.

In our Let's Cut Some Spending series, ForAmerica will chronicle parts of the 2021 and 2022 spending bills from a variety of sources that you probably don't know about - programs, grants, and spending of all kinds that should have never happened in the first place and many that are still happening.

Today's offering: Millions to teach critical race theory!

The Heartlander reports:

“The Center Square uncovered federal grant documents from the Department of Education that showed the federal agency has awarded millions of dollars to a program that trains future educators in critical race theory.
‘Critical Race Theory is inherently bigoted and it is a lie,’ U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, said in response to news about the grant funding. ‘The federal government should not be funding the training for a Marxist ideology that teaches people to hate America. That’s why I introduced legislation earlier this year to block federal funding for CRT.’ Another grant awarded $1.2 million to researchers to find evidence that racism is to blame for poor sleep in minority communities."

The Department of Education using your tax dollars to teach our kids to hate. An absolute crime.

How about defund the Dept of Ed? Nothing in the constitution mentions education as a federal responsibility, so that funding should be returned to the states (most of whom do have constitutional requirements to provide education).
