In a recent interview, former first lady Michelle Obama said she was "terrified" about the potential results of the upcoming presidential election.
Obama told Jay Shetty on his podcast, On Purpose, that the thought makes her restless at night, adding, "We cannot take this democracy for granted."
Fox News reports:
'What is the thing that keeps you up at night now, or what is your biggest fear now, after having overcome so many?' the podcast host asked.
'It has less to do with me personally and more to do with the world that we're in,' Obama said. 'There's such a thing as knowing too much, and when you've been married to the president of the United States who knows everything about everything in the world, sometimes you just want to turn it off.'
While she went on to note concerns, ranging from wars across various regions and the future of artificial intelligence to climate change and voter turnout as being problems on her mind, America's upcoming presidential election remains chief among them. 'Those are the things that keep me up, because you don’t have control over them. And you wonder, where are we in this? Where are our hearts? What’s gonna happen in this next election?' Obama asked. 'I am terrified about what could possibly happen, because our leaders matter. Who we select, who speaks for us, who holds that bully pulpit affects us in ways that sometimes I think people take for granted.'
She added:
'We cannot take this democracy for granted, and sometimes I worry that we do. Those are the things that keep me up.'
While the Left keeps saying that another Trump presidency would lead to a dictatorship, the Biden administration is already attacking every democratic norm possible.
Joe Biden targets his political opponents with indictments. The Biden White House has been shown to be involved in widespread censorship and First Amendment violations. Democrats are currently trying to keep the likeliest Republican nominee off the ballot in certain states.
This is the behavior of authoritarian dictators in corrupt banana republics. It is not normal republican democracy, as it has been practiced historically - and constitutionally - in the United States.
The current Democrat Party and the Biden administration have been unprecedented in how far they are willing to go to prevent American citizens from voting or doing things in ways they don't like.
Actual democracy be damned.
Michelle Obama said she is worried about the fate of American democracy in the 2024 election.
She should be worried about it based on the actions of her own party.
Terrified? As well she should be, especially if shs tries to run!!
The United States is a REPUBLIC, not a Democratic government.
