Ana Navarro Throws a Fit Over Republican Calling Detained Illegals 'Criminals'

"The View's" Ana Navarro said most illegal aliens detained at the border are not criminals.

She also got upset at a CNN panelist who suggested that many did have criminal records.

The confrontation happened during a CNN segment on Wednesday.

ICE facilities in Chicago and Portland have been the scene of multiple riots as opposition to the agency finding and detaining illegal immigrants.

Former Texas Republican Party finance chair Hal Lambert said he disagreed with how establishment media was covering the riots, but then was interrupted by Navarro.

“No, it’s not what the media would like you to believe. We see it every day," Navarro said. "If there was Tren De Aragua, there would be evidence that there was Tren De Aragua."

Navarro was referencing the violent Venezuelan criminal gang, Tren De Aragua, who were recently targeted by President Donald Trump.

Navarro continued, asking Lambert,"If there were criminals, there would be evidence there were criminals. You know what there is evidence of?”

“There is evidence" Lambert said.

Navarro jumped right back in, “No, there is evidence that the majority of people who have been grabbed are people without criminal records. And many of them have become undocumented because TPS has ended, because programs that made them legal here have ended. So don’t tell me...”

Lambert then interrupted her, pointing out that “Biden opened the border.”

Does "The View" host really think that many of those detained don't have criminal records? Never mind the criminal act of breaking into the United States - but beyond that?

This should not be hard to comprehend.

Navarro went on, “You can say whatever the hell you want about the border, but don’t come here and lie about most of them being criminals, because that is simply false."

Lambert told her, “You’re making it the sympathetic argument, but...”

Navarro stopped him, “No, I’m not making the sympathetic argument. I am making the factual argument. The majority of the people who have been grabbed and detained, deported, disappeared, are people without criminal records.”

The Texas Republican asked how she could possibly know that. “You don’t have the stats on that either. But I‘m just going to say this...”

Navarro insisted, “Go look it up. Go look it up. CNN has reported the stats.”

Trump's border czar has detailed the crimes of illegal immigrants many times. He did so last month on Bill Maher's HBO program and seemed to give the host some pause on this issue.

Homan appeared on Fox News in late July and what he said then seemed to back Lambert's original contention that major media was getting it wrong about ICE.

"If there's any change in the polls on ICE enforcement, it's because they're being fed a false narrative by 95% of the media," Homan said.

Homan continued, "70% of the people we're arresting are criminals. Who are the other 30%? (They're) national security threats. We've arrested over 300 Iranian nationals. These are people who are a national security threat based on intelligence, based on other information. These are people we have to take off the street, that we have to deport."

Somebody's "stats" are off here. We're betting it's probably not Tom Homan's.
