In a 2019 Twitter post, then-candidate Joe Biden explained that President Donald Trump needed to be impeached because he supposedly withheld Ukraine aid until after the presidential election.
Biden wrote, "President Trump withheld Congressionally appropriated aid to Ukraine unless they granted him a political favor. It's the definition of quid pro quo. This is not joke—Trump continues to put his own personal, political interests ahead of the national interest. He must be impeached."
Now, today, Biden is saying he will withhold Israel aid until after the election. The same thing he accused Trump of doing as an impeachable offense.
Sen. Tom Cotton wasn't having it.
"The House has no choice but to impeach Biden based on the Trump-Ukraine precedent of withholding foreign aid to help with reelection," he wrote. "Only with Biden, it’s true."
It's true. Biden, who once said his commitment to Israel and its self-defense was "ironclad," is now saying he's withholding US weapons. An arms embargo.
Which he clearly said was an impeachable offense under Trump.
And Trump didn't even actually do what Democrats accused him of when he got impeached the first time.
Joe Biden is actually doing it!
Now... will Biden be impeached? Of course not. He's Joe Biden. You might see this double standard highlighted by Republican politicians or conservative media, but the establishment media won't touch it.
It doesn't exist.
Their job is not to tell the truth, have integrity or be consistent. It's to attack Donald Trump and protect Joe Biden.
So while Biden is currently doing something right now he clearly said five years ago was an impeachable offense, that simply won't happen.
As Trump still sits in a New York City courtroom.
That's how the system works. And the Left wonders why Donald Trump has the support he has.
