Bill Maher is no conservative. By his own admission, he usually votes for Democrats.
But he's also usually not hesitant to criticize that party.
Such was the case on Friday, when the Real Time host slammed Democrats for being too "afraid" to come on his show.
The HBO host said that Democrats like former Vice President Kamala Harris and Bill and Hillary Clinton were too "afraid" to come on his show.
But praised Republicans for coming on and taking "their beating like a man."
Maher complained that fans asked him "all the time" why he doesn't have prominent Democrats  on.
He said, "You think we don't ask? We ask these people every week. They say no."
"It took eight years and a petition to get Obama on," he lamented.
A bewildered Maher then noted of those afraid to do his show, they were Democrats he VOTED FOR.
"And these are people — all people I voted for. Think about that," Maher said. "They're afraid to come on the show of a guy who voted for them.
"The Republicans, they show up and when they do, they take their beating like a man," he added.
Maher then played clips of conservatives who have appeared on his program.
He continued, "Look, I would love to have AOC on the show and Zohran Mandani and Elizabeth Warren, but I can't subpoena the guests and I can't fix that."
"What the Democrats are scared of more than anything else. I mean, obviously, besides gluten, is being primaried from the far left, even though most Democrats are not far-left, they're mild mannered and moderate." He joked, "At least at my bath house."
Maher has a point. Many attribute Donald Trump's 2024 presidential victory, in part, to his willingness to be interviewed on a number of independent media podcasts, the most popular being Joe Rogan.
Democrat nominee Kamala Harris was invited by Rogan to be on his program before the election. She declined.
Kamala Harris won't even do Maher's show, which is friendlier territory.
It says something about Bill Maher that he would call this out. It also says a lot about Democrats.
