Bill Maher: It's Time to Defund 'Crazy Far Left' NPR

When the head of National Public Radio, Katherine Maher, appeared before Congress last week to defend NPR of accusations of political bias, HBO's Bill Maher decided to discuss it on his show Friday night.

And what he said might surprise conservatives.

Maher said on 'Real Time' Friday, “I also read my namesake, Katherine Maher — head of NPR — and, you know, she said, ‘We’re completely unbiased.'"

"Give me a break, lady,” Maher added,

The host then explained why he didn't believe NPR was unbiased.

“I mean, they’re crazy far Left," Maher said. "So, I mean, I think we’re past, my view, we’re past the age really, where the government, first of all, why do we need to subsidize — why can’t we have outlets like this and we’re so polarized."

"These outlets became popular at a time when Republicans and Democrats didn’t hate each other and weren’t at each other’s throats and didn’t think each other was an existential threat in that world," he continued. "You can’t have places like this I think anymore; they have to be private.” 

Maher is right. Why are taxpayers funding a hard Left news outlet?

Republican Congressman James Comer said to the NPR head, “People who listen to NPR are totally misinformed."

“I have a problem with that, because you get federal funds," he added.

EVERYONE should have a problem with that.

And many do.

When leftists have lost Bill Maher...

STRIP funding.

Republican Congressman William Timmons pointed out during the hearing that no Republicans work for NPR.

Privatize it.

After Katherine Maher's hearing, President Trump wrote on Truth Social, “NPR and PBS, two horrible and completely biased platforms (Networks!), should be DEFUNDED by Congress, IMMEDIATELY."

“Republicans, don’t miss this opportunity to rid our Country of this giant SCAM, both being arms of the Radical Left Democrat Party," Trump added. "JUST SAY NO AND, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!”

Everyone from Donald Trump to Bill Maher now thinks NPR should be defunded.

Republicans, as the President said, the ball is in your court.
