David Hogg, who was a student during the 2018 school shooting in Parkland, Florida, has since become a well-known gun control advocate.

This week he brought his message to a New Hampshire town hall.

Where he instead got a message from someone who did not like what he had to say.

“Hi, my name is Lily Tang Williams,” a woman said in the video of the debate posted to social media.

“Welcome to my ‘Live Free or Die’ state," Williams said. "Actually, I am a Chinese immigrant who survived communism, and under Mao, you know, 40 million people were starving to death after he sold communism to them and 20 million people died… murdered during his Cultural Revolution."

She was obviously referring to Chinese Communist dictator Mao Zedong.

Williams continued, "So, my question to you, David, is can you guarantee me, a gun owner tonight, our government in the US, in DC, will never become a tyrannical government?"

"Can you guarantee that to me?" she repeated.

Hogg had no real answer and said about all he could say.

“There is no way I can guarantee that any government will not be tyrannical,” Hogg responded.

Then Lily Tang Williams basically left Hogg speechless.

“Well, then, the debate on gun control is over because I will never give up my guns,” Williams told him.

She added, “Never. Never. And you should go to China to see how gun control works for dictatorship of the CCP.”

It is terrible that David Hogg and the other students in Parkland, Florida had to go through that horror six years ago.

But sometimes the "solutions" people come up with can be worse than the problems. Restricting Americans' gun rights is at the top of that list.

America has a Second Amendment precisely to resist tyranny and that basic liberty must always be protected, something the Founding Fathers knew too well.

Apparently Lily Tang Williams knows too.
