CNN’s Harry Enten: Americans ‘Vastly Prefer’ Trump’s Handling Of Crime to Biden

CNN data reporter said on Thursday that it is clear that Americans prefer President Donald Trump’s handling of crime to President Joe Biden's by a large margin.

For August, Trump has a +1 point net approval rating on crime.

Which is a full twenty-seven points above Biden’s -26 point approval rating in 2024.

Enten also said Americans in general are probably more "hawkish" than some Democrats might want to admit.

“Look in 2024, look at where Biden’s net approval was on crime. Way underwater there at -26 points," Enten said. "It was one of Biden’s worst issues, granted, pretty much every issue was one of Biden’s worst issues.”

"And again, look at where Donald Trump is," he continued. "Way, way, way above Joe Biden. That’s 27 points."

Enten concluded, "So Americans vastly prefer Donald Trump’s approach to crime than they did to Joe Biden’s and again, I think it gets back to the point that Americans are far more hawkish on crime than Democrats want to admit.”

Enten noted that Trump's approval on this front was up. There is also support for the President deploying the National Guard in DC to “reestablish law, order and public safety.”

“Americans view Trump far more favorably now on crime than they did a year ago, and while this polling doesn’t exactly take into account what exactly is happening in D.C. right now, it does take into account what happened in Los Angeles, what’s happened earlier this year," Enten said.

He added, "And Americans, for the most part, actually view Trump favorably. Crime is one of Trump’s best issues, it’s one of the reasons why he wants to talk about crime, because it favors him."

Part of the reason Americans elected Donald Trump to a second term was to help clean up the country regarding crime.

So far, the president seems to be living up to that promise.

And Americans are noticing. If Democrats were smart, they would be too.
