Elon Musk Accuses Ilhan Omar of 'Treason' After Old Remarks Resurface

As if there wasn't enough controversy surrounding Democratic Congresswoman Ilhan Omar and the $1 billion social services fraud that took place in her state and district...

Some are now wondering if she's a traitor to the U.S.

Elon Musk pondered on Wednesday if Omar had committed “treason” based on remarks she made in January 2024 in which she appeared to put Somali interests ahead of those of the United States.

“This sounds like treason,” Musk wrote on X, sharing a video of Omar's comments.

Omar told her constituents in January 2024, according to the New York Post, "that she would do everything in her power to prevent the breakaway Republic of Somaliland from entering into a sea-access deal with landlocked Ethiopia were rocketing around social media, courtesy of the Tesla and SpaceX CEO."

Many of the people living in Omar's district are legal Somalian immigrants and some are illegal.

Omar said, translated to English, "The US government will only do what Somalians in the US tell them to do."

She seemingly was telling the audience that they had power as a group over the decisions the U.S. government made regarding Somalia.

“They will do what we want and nothing else," Omar continued. "They must follow our orders and that is how we will safeguard the interest of Somalia."

She wasn't done. "As long as I am in the US Congress, Somalia will never be in danger, its waters will not be stolen by Ethiopia or others," Omar continued.

"The US would not dare to support anyone against Somalia to steal our land or oceans," she finished. "Sleep in comfort, knowing I am here to protect the interests of Somalia from inside the US system.”

Musk has a point. Omar does sound like she is advocating for the interests of her country of origin rather than her American district in Minnesota she was elected to represent.

President Trump had a few choice words about Omar during a speech on Tuesday in Pennsylvania.

“I love this Ilhan Omar, whatever the hell her name is, with the little turban,” the president said. ““I love her. She comes in, does nothing but b****. She’s always complaining."

"She comes from her country, where I mean, it’s considered about the worst country in the world, right?," Trump asked.

“We ought to get her the hell out,” Trump added.

Omar said of Trump’s Pennsylvania comments about her, writing on X: “Trump’s obsession with me is beyond weird. He needs serious help. Since he has no economic policies to tout, he’s resorting to regurgitating bigoted lies instead."

"He continues to be a national embarrassment.”
