Former Biden Aide Defends Admin Doing 'Undemocratic Things' Because Trump Was a Threat to Democracy

We know the Biden White House did many undemocratic things. Weaponizing the legal system against Donald Trump. Mass censoring of citizens' speech. Biden trying to throw his political opponent off state ballots.
But according to a former aide to Biden, anything the administration did that was undemocratic was justified to stop the supposed "existential threat" to democracy, Trump.
You can't make this up. Make it make sense.
In an interview with Fox News host Shannon Bream on Sunday, Axios reporter Alex Thompson promoted his new book, revealing that White House insiders told him that they often saw themselves as the people making the real decisions.
All under the nose of the actual president.
Undermining democracy to "protect" democracy from the supposed threat of Trump was something Thompson seemed to say they weren't shy about discussing.
Thompson said (emphasis added), “If you believe — and I think a lot of these people do sincerely believe — that Donald Trump was and is an existential threat to democracy, you can rationalize anything, including sometimes doing undemocratic things."
Thompson said that another aide told him that Biden “just had to win, and then he could disappear for four years.”
Wow. That's what they believed?
“He’d only have to show proof of life every once in a while,” Thompson recalled the aide saying. “His aides could pick up the slack.”
Masters of the Universe, here.
“When you’re voting for president, you’re voting for the aides around him,” the aide said.
You are?
It sounds like conservatives worst suspicions about who was really running things in the Biden White House were true, at least according to the aides who were there as reported by Alex Thompson.
That's not good. And he was trying to serve another four years. Unbelievable.
It seems the more we learn about the Biden White House, the worse it gets.
