Google Admits Biden Administration Forced Them to Censor

Google admitted on Tuesday that the Biden administration forced the company to censor content about COVID-19.

This revelation was shown in a document from the company provided to the House Judiciary Committee, first obtained by Fox News.

The company said that YouTube accounts that were permanently banned for political speech would now be reinstated.

This decision could affect a number of high profile conservative influencers. Fox News reported Tuesday, "The new policy from Google, also known by its parent company Alphabet, could affect both average users and well-known figures like FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino, White House counterterrorism chief Sebastian Gorka and 'War Room' podcast host Steve Bannon, all of whom were permanently banned in recent years for COVID-19 or election-related content."

Google's lawyer wrote, "Reflecting the Company’s commitment to free expression, YouTube will provide an opportunity for all creators to rejoin the platform if the company terminated their channels for repeated violations of COVID-19 and elections integrity policies that are no longer in effect."

Before becoming part of the Trump administration, Bongino was clearly a popular conservative voice who livestreamed on Rumble, but his YouTube account was banned in 2022.

YouTube claimed Bongino was spreading "misinformation" about the efficacy of masks.

Bongino wasn't alone in getting banned over this. Just ask Sen. Rand Paul:

The censorship by the Biden administration, particularly of conservatives, was far and wide.

Google's lawyer noted, referring to tech giant Alphabet that was involved with Google, "Senior Biden Administration officials, including White House officials, conducted repeated and sustained outreach to Alphabet and pressed the Company regarding certain user-generated content related to the COVID-19 pandemic that did not violate its policies."

The lawyer said that the Biden administration "created a political atmosphere that sought to influence the actions of platforms based on their concerns regarding misinformation."

The Biden administration's censorship regime violated the Constitution and knowingly and intentionally applied exactly the kind of government power the First Amendment was created to stop.

Not that following the Constitution has ever been a top priority for the Left.

Regardless, what conservatives already knew about the censorship carried out against them in recent years was finally admitted by the tech giant.

The First Amendment needs to be applied in full, across the board, no matter which party is in power.
