Hunter Biden Explains Why Dad Really Was 'Sleepy Joe'

Throughout the 2020 and 2024 presidential campaigns, Donald Trump mocked former President Joe Biden as "Sleepy Joe."

As president, Biden did seem out of it half the time, with most Americans considering Trump's nickname a humorous way of shining light on this.

But it turns out, according to Joe Biden's own son, he was taking sleeping pills.

Hunter Biden even claims that taking Ambien is what led to his father having such a disastrous debate with Trump in 2024.

On the one year anniversary of Biden leaving the 2024 presidential election, an interview was released of his son Hunter talking to YouTube personality Andrew Callaghan.

“I know exactly what happened in that debate,” Hunter told Callaghan.

“He flew around the world. He’s 81 years old," the younger Biden said. "He’s tired... They give him Ambien to be able to sleep and he gets up on the stage and looks like a deer in the headlights.”

There is no public record of Ambien being prescribed to the former president.

If you recall, that debate with Trump was so bad with Biden that the same Democrats who had been assuring us that Biden was "sharp as a tack" began to panic over the president's obvious mental decline.

That's how Democrats ended up installing Vice President Kamala Harris as their nominee, who spectacularly failed.

Fox News contributor and medical doctor Nicole Saphier wasn't buying Hunter Biden's story, posting on X, "I call BS on Hunter’s claim - no MD would give the President an Ambien before going on stage before a debate and if Biden took it without physician guidance: 1. Where did he get prescription? 2. Was he cognitively unable to determine the effects of Ambien?"

Fair questions. It does seem like there was probably a lot more going on with Joe Biden than just sleep medicine.

But it is interesting that Hunter Biden would now say this about his father and his debate performance.

Whether what he said is actually true or not is a different matter altogether.
