Inflation Was Significantly Worse Under Biden Than Trump

Inflation has risen under both presidents Joe Biden and Donald Trump.
But there are significant number differences between the two. Fox News' Peter Doocy recently focused on overall inflation, and gas and grocery prices to get an idea of how the presidents compared.
The differences are stark.
Doocy said, "When you look at overall inflation for the first year of Trump versus Biden, Biden, overall inflation was up 4.3 percent, higher than Trump, just up 1.6% percent, groceries under Biden in that time, up 3.8 percent."
He also said, "With Trump, up 1.3 percent. and then when it comes to gas, this is crazy. Biden, up 24.4 percent. with Trump, it is actually down 5.4 percent."
"That is where the biggest difference is," he noted.
Doocy continued, "We heard from the HUD secretary, Scott Turner, this afternoon. They are racing to cut red tape for construction projects because the belief among officials is that housing is the number one place where people are getting killed when it comes to affordability."
"If people are cutting red tape and able to build more houses and apartments, then the prices will come down," he said. "Pretty basic supply and demand in play."
This is worth noting, especially when it comes to gas prices.
Inflation is still with us and is hurting Americans. But the policies of both major parties matter and voters make their decisions accordingly.
Donald Trump and Republicans won in 2024 and the economy is better now than it was under Joe Biden and the Democrats. That much is clear.
But there is still much work to do in improving the country's finances. Team Trump and his party are better suited to achieve this than the alternative.
As the numbers already show.
