Let's Cut Some Spending: $15,000 for a monkey opera

In our Let's Cut Some Spending series, ForAmerica chronicles the many ways Washington wastes YOUR tax dollars - and as you’ll see, the list is endless.

Today’s offering: $15,000 for a monkey opera!

Another random piece of government spending waste from Sen. James Lankford's 'Federal Fumbles' list. Oklahoma City's FOX 25 reports:

"This year I’ve found things like $2 billion wasted because of the Biden Administration’s decision to not finish building the wall at our southern border, which is already paid for. We literally paid contractors $2 billion last year not to build the border security wall," said Lankford.
He also highlighted a plan from the Department of Homeland Security to spend up to $150,000 on 'robot dogs' to help patrol the southern border.
Also on this year's list, $20 million in money given out by the National Endowment of the Arts. Lankford lists $15,000 spent on what he referred to as a "monkey opera."

Um... what is a monkey opera?

And WHY are we paying for it?

You can't make this stuff up.
