In our Let's Cut Some Spending series, ForAmerica chronicles the many ways Washington wastes YOUR tax dollars - and as you’ll see, the list is endless.

Today’s offering: Illegal Immigration costs taxpayers about $1,000 for each lawbreaker.

The National Desk reports:

Republicans have been hammering the Biden administration over what they say is a "crisis" resulting from "radical open border policies." Now, they're making their argument by laying out how immigration hits Americans where it counts most: their pocketbooks.
The current immigration policies “are making it harder for Americans to put gas in their cars and put food on the table,” House Homeland Security Committee Chair Mark Green said in a video after he and his colleagues released a new report with what they say is an ongoing "comprehensive oversight investigation into the causes, costs, and consequences of the crisis at the Southwest border." The new report cites a couple of calculations of the comprehensive cost of immigration on American taxpayers.
One estimate, from the Federation for American Immigration Reform, found that illegal immigration costs every American taxpayer a net average of $956. FAIR found that illegal immigration imposes around $182 billion in federal, state and local costs. And the immigrants pay about $31 billion in taxes, which works out to about a $150 million net load on American resources. Another estimate cited by Republicans, from the Center for Immigration Studies, said immigrant costs could be as much as $451 billion. The cost of illegal immigration is greater than the annual gross domestic product of 15 states, the report stated.

There are so many ways in which America's broken borders harm the country and this is just another metric.

Each illegal costs taxpayers close to $1,000. Imagine having to cough that cash up right now - for someone who broke your country's laws!

If Joe Biden's not going to do anything to fix this problem - and he's not - making the next president will.
