Liberal Comedian Bill Maher Says He 'Can't Deny' Trump's Success

Bill Maher is on the Left. He freely admits he didn't vote for Donald Trump and criticizes the president all the time.

But the HBO star now also says that he "can't deny" Trump's success so far.

Maher made his comments on the most recent episode of his "Club Random" podcast.

Maher made his remarks during an interview with actor William H. Macy, who also agreed with the host that Trump has had a good run thus far.

"I always say this — you cannot ever deny success," Maher said. "You just have to give your respect even if it’s not your thing. Have the humility to give it up for enormous success on any level."

Maher added, Trump — not my choice, didn’t vote for him. And he’s.... I can’t deny the success."

Macy agreed, "I can't either – and he's the president."

Over the years, Maher has been no fan of Trump, and President Trump hasn't always been a fan of his.

In fact, Maher has long kept a sheet of paper in his studio that listed all of the times Trump has insulted him over time.

When Maher visited the White House in early April, Trump signed the list!

Something Macy absolutely loved. "That's f****** brilliant," the actor laughed.

Maher remarked, "This is what's so amazing, that he, off the top of his head, could come up with 56 different..." Maher then reading some of Trump's choice words for him, particularly the name-calling and the president's ability to choose random nicknames for his enemies on the spot.

"It's hip, and it says something about the human mind, or some human minds," Maher said.

This is not the first time Maher has said something positive about Trump.

Just two weeks ago, Maher noted that Trump promised the country would be "winning" so much during his second term that Americans would get tired of winning.

Maher pointed out that the Trump-led Republican Party is doing precisely that right now.

Maher also acknowledged Trump's effectiveness and authenticity as president on his podcast in April.

"Trump really is one of the most effective politicians, whether whatever you think of the policy and him as a person, just as a politician, just understanding that... always lean in to being more who you are... the people are not savvy about issues, but they smell a phony a mile away," Maher explained.

Maher and Donald Trump do not agree politically.

Yet Bill Maher is being honest here in giving credit where it's due.
