Net Migration Going DOWN First Time in 50 Years: ‘Trump Is Remaking the US’

CNN chief data analyst Harry Enten said that President Donald Trump's immigration and border security policies have been so successful that migration into the United States might actually be a negative soon, which is the first time this has happened in half a century.

Enten compared key campaign promises made by Trump - immigration among them - and how much the President has followed through.

He gave his analysis on Saturday on “CNN Newsroom.”

“It is not the only way that Trump is remaking America,” Enten said. “The other big thing that Trump ran on, right, was immigration. How about net migration in the United States? Get this. It’s down. It’s going to be down at least 60%."

He continued, "We may be dealing with, get this, negative net migration to the United States in 2025. That would be the first time there is negative net migration in this country in at least 50 years.”

Enten particularly compared where immigration numbers are under Trump compared to Joe Biden's presidency.

“We’re talking about down from 2.8 million in 2024,” Enten added.

That's a lot.

“So, Donald Trump has always run on tariffs and he’s running a hawkish line on immigration," Enten noted. "And on both of those issues, we are seeing record high tariff rates for this century going all the way back, well back into the early part of the 20th century. When it comes to immigration, net migration, we are seeing record low levels, way down from where we were during the Biden administration.”

Illegal immigration and lack of border security were top issues for many voters in 2024, and the contrast between Trump's policies and Biden's couldn't be more stark.

Biden oversaw a broken and overrun southern border, and simply threw up his hands saying there was nothing he could do about it.

Trump said there was something the president could do and vowed to do it himself.

So he did.

Today, America's southern border still has many problems but is dramatically more secure than it was before.

Stronger borders and less illegal immigration is what Americans voted for in the last election.

So far, that's what President Trump has delivered.
