NPR's Charlie Kirk Coverage Shows Why It's Getting Defunded

Senate Republicans successfully voted to strip National Public Radio of federal funding in July. Conservatives have argued for decades that taxpayers should not be forced to fund a left-wing propaganda outlet.

NPR has continued to show its absurd left partisanship in how the outlet has covered the assassination of Charlie Kirk.

FACT: Utah County Attorney Jeff Gray said that the suspected assassin, Tyler Robinson, a gay man in a relationship with a trans woman/biological man, was a leftist and had evidence that he targeted Kirk for his political beliefs.

This is not speculation. This is what Utah's AG has said.

But NPR says the suspect's motive can't be determine because we still don't know where he stands on "labor and immigration."

Seriously.

NPR's Kirk coverage has been like this across the board:

NPR published an article on September 18th titled, "Why did alleged assassin target Kirk? Evidence paints complicated picture."

It does? Seems pretty clear. Robinson's own mother has said her son had shifted radically to the left and specifically hated the Kirk appearance.

But this was all still mysterious to NPR. From the NPR article,

In their charging document, authorities cite text messages that Robinson allegedly exchanged with "his lover/roommate," a person they describe as "a biological male who was transitioning genders." The document also includes another text in which Robinson allegedly explains that he killed Kirk because he had "had enough of his hatred."

So far, so good. We can see where this is headed.

The article continued:

The presumed motive has added fire to a rash of speculation by high-reach conservatives, who have suggested that this motive equated to a political ideology. The same day Kirk was killed, President Trump claimed the shooter was a "radical leftist." Others have suggested that the suspect may have been "groomed" by a "trans terror cell" and that he was perhaps working with larger groups, including "antifa." So far, these claims have not been supported by publicly released evidence.

There was some speculation about who committed the murder that may or may not have been true.

There is also the issue in plain sight that this suspect in custody was someone who was clearly on the hard left.

But NPR still can't figure out that part.

The next part of the article really sums up how biased and blind NPR truly is:

In fact, little is still known about Robinson's politics.

Not according to HIS OWN MOTHER!

Hell, even CNN reported this:

More (emphasis added):

According to the charging document, his mother told investigators that he had become more "pro-gay and trans-rights oriented" within the last year. It also includes a text message, allegedly written by Robinson, that said "since trump got into office [my dad] has been pretty diehard maga." But Robinson is not registered with a political party in Utah. There is no evidence of his positions on other issues of importance to the left, such as immigration or labor.

"No evidence of his positions."

Because NPR doesn't know what the suspect's positions are on... immigration and labor?

Who cares what he thinks about either? This suspect is clearly left-wing and is accused of killing a high profile conservative in cold blood for expressing his opinions.

The weight of this crime far surpasses any of the trivialities NPR is apparently distracting themselves and their audience with.

Is this how much NPR is willing to twist itself into a pretzel to pretend this wasn't left-wing violence?

Apparently so. This is absolutely insane.

It certainly isn't journalism.

The only bad thing about NPR getting defunded is that it didn't happen sooner.
