'Sickness': Trump Slams Those Cheering Accused CEO Killer

Luigi Mangione, a 26-year-old Ivy League graduate, is accused of shooting and killing 50-year-old United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson on a New York City street this month.

Instead of most people instantly condemning such random acts of violence, many are now cheering Mangione due to their own frustrations with the health insurance industry.

Donald Trump wasn't having it. He called it a "sickness."

During an exchange with reporters on Monday, Trump was asked what he thought about those who seem to praise or support the murder suspect.

“I think it’s really terrible that some people seem to admire him — like him,” Trump said, speaking from his Mar-a-Lago resort.“ It was cold-blooded, just a cold-blooded, horrible killing.”

The President-elect continued, “You just can’t believe some people — and maybe it’s fake news — I don’t know. It seems that there’s a certain appetite... I don’t get it.”

Trump said such people were sick.

“How people can like this guy — that’s a sickness actually, that’s really very bad. Especially the way it was done, it was so bad — right in the back,” he said.

What could have been the suspect's motive? The New York Post reported, "Evidence suggests that Mangione struggled with back pain, later received surgery and had fumed over the health insurance industry. UnitedHealthcare claims that he was not insured by the company."

Trump - who has now faced multiple assassination attempts - not surprisingly a negative view of violent individuals seeking private justice.

Thankfully he breathed some sanity and civility into the discourse over this incident.

It really is a sickness to be cheering on gunning down people randomly.

How many of the people cheering the suspect were also warning that Donald Trump would be a dangerous madman if he was re-elected?

Well, he was re-elected, and a month out from his inauguration he decided to kick off this week by being the sanest person in the room on this issue.

That's called leadership, which is more we can say for the guy still wandering aimless around the White House right now.
