On Thursday, White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller completely unloaded on the White House press corps for how they have not covered some of the heinous crimes committed by illegal immigrants, but instead are sympathetic to alleged MS-13 gang members.
He DID NOT hold back.
Miller said during a press briefing, “It is a sad reflection on the state of our media and many of the outlets represented in this room that you obsessively try to shill for these MS-13 terrorists.”
His remarks were a response to a question about whether the administration is trying to un-deport Kilmar Abrego Garcia from El Salvador. He was deported in March and has become central in the political battle on this issue.
When pressed on Garcia not being given due process, Miller cited what he considered the “extensive due process” that the Biden administration gave to two members of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua.
Both men were apprehended at the border. Miller said they were released quickly so they could “go through a lengthy legal, judicial determination as to whether these illegal aliens who had just set foot on US soil might want to live the United States for the rest of their lives.”
“What was the result of that decision?" Miller asked. "What was the result of that choice that was made? Those two men kidnapped a young girl named Jocelyn Nungaray.”
Miller continued, “They beat her. They sexually assaulted her. They tortured her. They stripped her. They murdered her, and they dumped her body.”
Those two suspects, Johan José Martínez-Rangel and Franklin José Peña Ramos, have been charged with capital murder, kidnapping, and aggravated sexual assault.
Trump had mentioned Jocelyn's case in the past and Miller told the press Thursday that the president “forced you to cover it.”
“He had to shame you into covering it," Miller told the group of journalists. "And each and every one of you decides over and over again with these MS-13 terrorists, to the extent that you have the financial means to do so, you all choose to live in condos or homes or houses as far away from these kinds of gangbangers as you possibly can."
Stephen Miller had many good points and said things that needed to be said.
Whether it actually made an impression on the White House press corps is entirely a different question.
