9,000 Caught. Zero Released.

For 15 straight months, not a single person caught trying to cross the southern border illegally has been released into the country.

That does not mean nobody is trying to cross. It means when they are caught, they are not being waved into America. There is a rather important difference between an illegal crossing attempt and a successful illegal entry.

Just over 9,000 people were apprehended at the southern border in July, down another 6% from June and a staggering 94% from the Biden years. Those are apprehensions, not 9,000 new illegal immigrants released into American communities.

And the comparison is remarkable: an entire month of apprehensions under President Trump is now lower than what the border routinely experienced in a single week during the Biden administration.

Turns out, enforcing the law works. Who knew?

Trump did not need some grand new piece of legislation to make it happen. Congress did not have to reinvent immigration law. The administration simply started enforcing the laws already on the books.

That makes what happened during the Biden administration even more infuriating. The border did not have to be a disaster. The chaos was a choice.

Administration officials estimate more than 20 million illegal entries occurred during the Biden years. Now, roughly 3 million deportations, including self-deportations, have taken place. That is real progress, but after four years of opening the floodgates, there is obviously plenty of work left to do.

And remember who Joe Biden put in charge of addressing the border crisis: Kamala Harris.

She managed to oversee the worst border catastrophe in American history and then came within a few million votes of becoming the 47th president of the United States.

I still cannot decide which explanation is more terrifying: They knew exactly what they were doing, or they genuinely had no idea what they were doing.

Either way, the contrast could hardly be clearer.

Biden and Harris gave America a border crisis. Trump enforced the law and effectively shut down the pipeline.

After years of being told the problem was too complicated to fix, America has discovered something remarkable:

All we needed was a president willing to fix it.
