'The View's' Sara Haines Says Trump is Reaching Young People by Doing Popular Independent Podcasts

Since she became the Democratic presidential nominee, Kamala Harris has done exactly one interview. With CNN.

Her opponent, Donald Trump, is doing interview after interview, all the time.

He has specifically done a few podcast interviews that are popular with younger Americans.

According to 'The View's' Sara Haines - who clearly does not like Trump - this is helping him.

Haines said on Monday, “Donald Trump is doing something that was just brought to my attention this weekend. He’s on a podcast tour, like with some pretty crazy people, but the reach of these podcasts is massive. They’re getting millions of hits … he is hitting them all and they’re talking about what you’d expect from him, nothing."

"But the important point is here is that those people who are watching are mostly geared toward young people, so they’re not watching CNN, Fox, The View," she added. "They’re on podcasts.”

Haines has a point. When Trump appeared on comedian Theo Von’s podcast in late August, he did a long form interview where he discussed many topics.

As of this writing, that interview has had over 13 million views.

On September 3rd, Trump sat down with computer scientist Lex Fridman to be interviewed on his podcast.

That currently has 4.7 million views.

Haines noted that these podcasts aren't even political in nature.

“So whether they agree or not, because these aren’t political podcasts, so this isn’t like a conservative group of people, they’re seeing that he cares enough to show up and be there, and I think it’s having an effect somewhat with these young people,” Haines continued.

While there's not exactly a scientific way to measure how much Trump doing non-political and independent media interviews might be helping him with younger voters...

It is noteworthy he's doing plenty of interviews.

His opponent, Kamala Harris? Not so much.

Actually, not at all right now.

Haines' 'The View' co-host Alyssa Farah Griffith noted this, saying, “I would encourage the vice president, she’s busy, do more interviews. Voters need to hear more from her, they want to know more. 28% of voters said they feel like they need to learn a little bit more about her and her policies. Come on ‘The View,’ go on CNN, do local press."

"That matters," she added.

Yeah, good luck with that.
