Trump Cleaning Up Yet Another Border Mess That Biden Left Behind

Americans have seen the contrast between President Joe Biden's policies of open borders and absolute immigration chaos and President Donald Trump's tough border and immigration.

Illegal immigration will likely always be a problem for the United States. It is significantly less of a problem under Trump than it was Biden. That much is clear.

But one aspect of this is now getting special attention - checking in on well being of the thousands of unaccompanied minors between the years 2021 and 2025 - Biden's presidency - who crossed the U.S.-Mexico border.

Human trafficking is obviously a major concern with these minors. So is sexual abuse.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) released a press release recently to announced this new initiative, in which the federal agency will team up the state and local law enforcement to investigate this matter.

From the press release (emphasis added):

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) launched an initiative with our state and local law enforcement partners aimed at protecting the 450,000 unaccompanied children (UAC) illegally smuggled over the border and placed with unvetted sponsors under the Biden administration. This new law enforcement partnership, known as the UAC Safety Verification Initiative, represents ICE’s commitment to protect vulnerable children from sexual abuse and exploitation through collaboration with law enforcement partners. The primary focus of this initiative is to conduct welfare checks on these children to ensure that they are safe and not being exploited.  The Biden administration's open border policies empowered human and sex traffickers. The Trump administration is taking a sledgehammer to human trafficking rings and ensuring these children who were smuggled across the border are not being abused.

During the Biden administration, immigration officials encountered almost 530,000 unaccompanied minors at U.S.-Mexico border.

According to congressional testimony, this was double the number of minors encountered at the border during Barack Obama's presidency and also Trump's first term.

Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley has said that11,488 minors were placed with sponsors but their hosts were not given background checks or even fingerprinted.

Who knows what could be happening with these children?

The Trump administration through ICE and local law enforcement intend to find out.

Good.
