Trump's 'Weaponization Czar' Ed Martin Says He's Looking Into Biden's Last Minute Pardons

President Donald Trump's "Weaponization Czar" Ed Martin says he's looking into the many sweeping last minute pardons made in the very last moments of his presidency.

Some of these "preemptive" pardons, which involved family members, were made right before Trump was sworn in.

Martin is the outgoing interim U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, and new Director of Weaponization Working Group, Associate Deputy AG & Pardon Attorney. He told The Daily Caller's Vince Coglianese on Monday in an interview that given the unprecedented nature of the pardons, he was investigating them.

Martin said, "We've never seen pardons of this scope, and it looks like it could be corrupt."

“It looks at least like something that you could be corrupt,” Martin continued. “When Bill Clinton pardoned Mark Rich, and it turned out that Mark Rich had paid a boat load of money to one of Clinton’s friend’s lawyers. That’s not corrupt, it’s not criminal, because the plenary power of the pardon."

He then explained why Biden's pardons might be different,

"But in the case of Joe Biden and his pardons, they were so specific," Martin said. "Back 14 years, covering everything you’ve ever done. And when I say specific, they were broad, but they had time stuff on them.”

He added, “And that at least leads to questions, because the plenary power’s true. But the question is what is going on here and I did get responses from some of them and those questions are ongoing."

Biden gave Anthony Fauci a retroactive pardon.

After saying he would not pardon his son Hunter Biden, the former president gave his son a blanket pardon at the beginning of December that covered any possible crime committed between Jan. 1, 2014, and Dec. 1, 2024.

Biden pardoned family members. He granted immunity to January 6 committee members like former Republican Reps. Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, pardons which they accepted.

Ed Martin is right: We really have never seen the scope of pardons that Joe Biden gave on his way out the door in January.

They at least look corrupt, at a minimum. Good on Trump's 'Weaponization Czar' for investigating how corrupt they might have actually been.
