Democratic Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett has been in the news more recently, with some Democrats looking to her as a potential new leader.
Maybe even the future of their party.
President Donald Trump is not impressed, to say the least, and finds her to be "low IQ."
Trump made his remarks in an interview with NBC News' “Meet the Press” on Sunday.
“I mean, look at the Democrats,” said to host Kristen Welker. “They’re in total disarray. They have a new person named Crockett. I watched her speak the other day, she’s definitely a low-IQ person, and they said she’s the future of the party. I said you have to be kidding.”
Crockett has raised her profile among Democrats in recents months, including her calling Republican Gov. Greg Abbott of Texas “Governor Hot Wheels” in reference to Abbott being wheelchair bound.
Trump doesn't know what kind of leadership Democrats might have on the horizon.
“I really believe in a two-party system, because it’s good to be challenged, it’s really good to have a two-party... Being challenged is okay, it keeps you sharp,” Trump said. “I don’t know what they’re gonna do. They have nobody. Bernie’s 87 years old or something and you know, Biden is the worst thing that ever happened to old people.”
Trump continued to say of Sanders.
“He’s a nutjob, but he’s still sharp. He’s sharp… he’s the same guy as he was. He hasn’t gone down."
The President also said his predecessor, President Joe Biden, is a bad representative for seniors.
"But Biden, is really, he’s the worst thing to happen to old people," Trump claimed.
As Donald Trump surpasses his first 100 days of the second term of his presidency, Democrats are as critical of him as they have ever been.
But on what grounds? What leg do they have to stand on? Jasmine Crockett, who is now the de facto leader of their party?
Good luck with that. The President is right.
