Trump Talks About the American Dream at McDonald's Event

President Donald Trump spoke at McDonald's Impact Summit this week, giving a long speech that covered a lot of topics.

It's no secret that the president is a fan of McDonald's and even worked their drive thru during the presidential campaign.

While the establishment media and leftist press picked Trump's speech apart negatively, it is worth noting that this wealthy man who is also the most powerful in the world is also a businessman. He seems to understand the importance and inherent dignity of work, even when starting out with minimum wage jobs.

And the importance of small businesses. That might sound strange when speaking about McDonald's but those are local franchise owners who run your local Mickey D's.

The White House even released a great McDonald's themed video this week about work and the American Dream.

The president recalled working at a McDonald's during the election.

"I'm honored to stand before you as the very first former McDonald's fry cook ever to become president of the United States."

"And I actually was there for about 30 minutes, and that was 30 minutes longer than Kamala was there," he laughed. "Despite her job at McDonald's, that didn't work out too well."

"My pledge to every family and every small business is that I will not rest until you are richer, stronger, more successful, happier, until you’ve gotten a piece of the American Dream," he said. "That begins with making America affordable.”

Trump said that he believed the economy was improving, and said, "I just might add, this is also the golden age of America because we are doing better than we've ever done as a country. Prices are coming down and all of that stuff, and they talk about different terms for that, but I will tell you that nobody has done what we've done in terms of pricing."

He focused on inflation.

"We took over a mess, we had the highest," the president tapered off. "Think of it, the highest inflation in the history of our country. They say 48 years, it was the history of our country, and now we have normal inflation, we're going to get it a little bit lower frankly, but we have normal… We've normalized it, we have it down to a low level, but we're going to get it a little bit lower. We want perfection."

The president said his administration strives to help all parts of the economy, from business owners to those entering the job market for the first time.

Trump promised, “I’m fighting every day to support small businesses like yours and the citizens that we all serve."

"And together, we’re fighting for an economy where everyone can win, from the cashier starting her first job, to the franchisee opening his first location, to the young family in a drive-thru line," the president added.
