In the wake of a second assassination attempt on Donald Trump, “The View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg says that dangerous rhetoric is only a problem on the Right, not the Left.
She dismissed the idea that "both sides" have used such rhetoric.
Goldberg looked right into the camera and made this claim with a straight face.
Seriously.
Never mind that the most recent assassination suspect, 58-year-old Ryan Routh, echoed the same hyperbolic rhetoric as Kamala Harris about Trump being a threat to democracy.
Here's what Goldberg said: “And also, let’s stop this thing. You know, let’s stop this both sides stuff."
"Because it’s not correct. It is not both sides, it is one clear side, and you can point to many, many reports," she went on. "You can point to all kinds of stuff that’s been reported. You guys have to pull it back."
Goldberg continued, "This is not us or them, this is you got to stop doing what you’re doing, J.D. (Vance) and what you’re doing, Mr. (Trump), because you are not helping the situation.”
How deep in the Left bubble do you have to be to make such a statement?
The Left has repeatedly called Trump Hitler on more occasions than we could possibly count.
Let's just start:
If you really believe an American political candidate is the same as Hitler, why wouldn't you take a shot at him?
Of course that's completely absurd to say - an insult to the Nazis' millions of victims, actually - but the Left still says it all the time.
And Whoopi Goldberg still thinks dangerous rhetoric is something only the Right does.
Hey Whoopi, see below:
Democrats have demonized Trump to a ridiculous degree using some of the worst language imaginable.
The assassination attempt on Trump over the weekend was the SECOND attempt in this election, after the Republican presidential nominee was shot during a campaign rally in Butler Township, Pennsylvania in July.
Trump's second would-be shooter, Routh, bashed Trump on X on April 22 declaring, “DEMOCRACY is on the ballot and we cannot lose.”
He also claimed Trump wants to “make Americans slaves against master.”
Routh could have easily heard this kind of insane rhetoric from Democratic pundits and politicians. Actually believing it might drive unstable people to take drastic violent action.
Which he apparently did.
That rhetoric comes from the Left and it is dangerous.
No matter how much Whoopi Goldberg and her friends choose to ignore it.
