The Coming Republican House Majority is Going to Have to Step Up and Do Something

ree

Gov. Ron DeSantis has signed legislation banning the teaching of Critical Race Theory in Florida classrooms.

Good.

Keep that toxic trash away from kids in Florida and everywhere else.

Which brings me to my next question: Why can't we do something like this at the federal level? There's no reason Republicans and can't step up and follow DeSantis' lead. They could withhold federal funding. They could do something with the appropriations language.

They could just do SOMETHING.

The House is going to have a battle royal with the Senate eventually. It's going to happen.

It's past time that the House put its Big Boy pants on and stopped playing second fiddle to the Senate. House Republicans don't have to rely on senators or another GOP president to get things done.

They can pass conservative agenda items on their own, but they don't. There's no reason for it.

ESPECIALLY after November when many predict Republicans will take back the House.

During John Boehner and Paul Ryan's tenure, the House was always like 'Well, I guess...'

...about everything. 'We'll just take what the Senate gives us.'

So what good is the House, then? It's a co-equal branch of the federal government, so let's do it! Do SOMETHING. The House is the branch closest to the people, those they represent, not senators, not presidents - YOU. The House.

Everything should stop with you. Instead of just throwing up your hands.

This is what's going to define a majority Republican House. It is how they will be judged.

Will they stick up for themselves or not? If not, the whole thing is an entire waste. Why bother. With any of these people. Their campaigns. Their wins. Who cares?

Unless the House steps up, this is all a waste of time.

And we might as well just have the Senate.
