Let's Cut Some Spending: $478,188 on transgender monkeys

Writer's picture: ForAmericaForAmerica

Remember the absolutely critical Omnibus spending bill Congress muscled through at the end of last year? It was 4,000 pages that no one read that cost taxpayers $1.7 trillion.

In our Let's Cut Some Spending series, ForAmerica will chronicle parts of the 2021 and 2022 spending bills from a variety of sources that you probably don't know about - programs, grants and spending of all kinds that should have never happened in the first place and many that are still happening.

Today's offering: Transgender monkeys!

Real Clear Policy reported in February 2022, "According to an NIH grant... Fauci’s agency awarded grants totaling $478,188 in Fiscal Years 2021 and 2022 to inject hormones into male monkeys to make them female."

Nearly a half million of YOUR tax dollars to make monkeys transgender.

"Should the NIH be funding animal research, especially research that alters the gender of the animal?" the report asks.

No, we should not. That should go without saying.

Republican Congressman Brian Mast said in January 2022, “First it was the horrific experiments on beagle puppies, now it’s transgender monkeys. Enough is enough: Dr. Fauci’s mad science experiments have to stop."

Dear House GOP: No one asked for transgender monkeys. Not sure if it really works, but don't care. Get rid of this program, give us this money back and never bring it back.
