NY Union Leader After Meeting with Trump: 'Biden is the Worst President in History'

Executive Office of the President of the United States

After New York union leader Bobby Bartels met with Donald Trump this week, what he said after gave some interesting insight into where many union members might be in the upcoming election.

Interesting because it's usually a given that unions are a Democrat stronghold.

But Bartels told Newsmax that it's different now and that he feels like the Democratic Party has "basically pushed everybody to the other side" over the last four years.

Representing the Steamfitters Local 638, Bartels said a big reason many union workers are now supporting Trump is over immigration, crime, and taxes.

He also said the Democratic Party is just too divisive.

"In the past, we are basically Democrats, all of us. And after what’s happened the last 4 years in this country, Democrats are basically pushing everybody to the other side," Bartles said. "We are a very patriotic group and we love our country and we want the best for America."

"We are tired of immigration, we are tired of our tax dollars going to immigration, we are tired of the crime, we need to put a handle back on things in this country," he continued.

Earlier Thursday morning, Bartlels mentioned a poll he created during his interview on Fox News.

"I put out a poll in my union. President Trump is leading Joe Biden 3 to 1 in my presidential poll out of my 9,000 members," he said.

"Normally a Democrat will win New York," he continued. "Biden is the worst president in history..."

That's a bold statement from someone who typically votes Democrat.

But it could be seen on Thursday that many union members might feel the same way about Biden and his party.

And many appeared to agree with Bartels about Trump.

This already interesting election just got more interesting.

And it's still a long way to November.
