"Too Late" Jerome Powell Makes a Small Step in the Right Direction

A quarter point isn't enough!

This week, Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell finally announced an interest rate cut after months of resistance. For too long, Americans have been stuck with sky-high borrowing costs while the economy cooled and families strained under the weight of mortgages, car loans, and credit cards.

The Biden years created the mess — reckless spending and Fed complacency let inflation run wild. Trump stabilized the economy, but Powell dragged his feet, waiting until the pain was widespread before acting. That hesitation is why he’s now being dubbed “Too Late” Jerome Powell.

The Fed says more cuts may follow before year’s end, but relief will take time to reach Main Street. Rates move slowly, even when decisions come late.

The lesson is simple: leadership means anticipating problems and moving boldly to solve them. When Washington dithers, the costs fall on everyday Americans.

Earlier this week, Jimmy Kimmel crossed a line no decent person should ever cross. He mocked the assassination of Charlie Kirk, sneering that conservatives were “desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them,” and even ridiculed President Trump’s response.

Kimmel wasn’t an outlier. Liberal media voices spent the week spinning Charlie’s killing as a MAGA problem or ignoring the reality of escalating left-wing violence. But then something remarkable happened: ABC suspended his show indefinitely after a wave of backlash from conservatives who refused to be silent.

This was not cancel culture. Cancel culture is the Left silencing conservatives for speaking truths they find uncomfortable. What happened to Kimmel was different: a private company making a choice. ABC weighed a host with sagging ratings who mocked an assassination against the standards of basic decency — and cut him loose.

The message is clear. The cultural tide is shifting. Conservatism is no longer something to whisper about; it is mainstream again. And in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s death, America’s silent majority is finding its voice.
