Senate Republicans Have Nothing but Excuses
Republicans finally have what they’ve spent years asking voters for: the House, the Senate, and the White House.
So why are they acting like they’re still in the minority?
The SAVE America Act already cleared the House. President Trump wants it on his desk. The only thing standing between the bill and a Senate vote is… the Senate.
Apparently, unified government comes with an asterisk.
President Trump has made it clear he’s tired of the excuses. He even delayed signing other legislation to force the issue.
Too many senators, meanwhile, seem content explaining why something can’t be done instead of figuring out how to do it.
Voters didn’t hand Republicans the keys to Washington so they could become experts on parliamentary procedure.
They handed them the keys to solve problems.
Every day the SAVE America Act sits on a shelf is another day Republicans own the delay.
Washington has no shortage of people who can explain why something is impossible.
The country is looking for a few who will prove otherwise.
