Donald Trump rocked the Bronx at a huge rally on Thursday with thousands coming from far and wide to see the former president.

The last time a Republican presidential candidate came to this deeply blue area? Ronald Reagan.

Trump said that despite all the bad things Democratic leaders have done to the city, New York City still stood as “a monumental testament to the power of the American spirit and the American dream.”

“By the muscle and backbone and genius of the people of New York, we built this city into the towering forest of iron, aluminum, concrete, and steel,” Trump said. “We made the city and state into the capital of global commerce.”

“Everybody wanted to be here," Trump continued. "New York was where you came to make it big. You want to make it big, you had to be in New York."

One of the more interesting parts of his speech is when Trump brought a man who introduced as a Democrat and an old friend. Local Democratic leader Ruben Diaz Sr.

Earlier in the day, far-left Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said in an interview that it was raining so bad on the morning of Trump's visit that even God didn't want him there.

Part of AOC's district is the Bronx. her saying this stuck in Rev. Diaz's craw.

After Trump introduced him, Diaz said to him and the audience, "Mr. President. I am a Puerto Rican. A black Puerto Rican. I used to be a state senator for 50 years. I used to be city council member."

"Today I’m here for valid reason," Diaz continued. "But I want to tell you first, that as a Puerto Rican. That as a Hispanic. I want to apologize to you for the conduct of Judge Juan Merchan."

He was referring to the Latino judge overseeing Trump's NYC case.

Diaz went on, "As a Hispanic, I want to apologize. He has been used to destroy you. But we know better than that, we know better than that."

Then Diaz turned to addressing AOC.

"I want to tell AOC," he said. "This morning she claimed to become a prophet. And she said ‘even God don’t want Trump in the Bronx because it’s going to rain."

He added, "Madame prophet AOC, you have become a false prophet."

The crowd erupted.

Then Diaz formally endorsed Trump in front of the massive crowd.

Trump would talk about how bad New York City was getting.

“Sadly, this is now a city in decline," he said. “Throughout my life, I’ve seen New York through good times and bad, through boom times and crime waves, through market crashes and terrorist attacks, but I’ve never seen it quite like this."

Trump noted the city's homeless, crime, and illegal immigrant problem.

“We have filthy encampments of drugged-out homeless people living in our places that we’ve spent so much time with children where they used to play," Trump said. "We have lunatics killing innocent bystanders by pushing them onto the railroad tracks for sport."

He went on, "Our subways are squalid and unsafe, the ceiling tiles are falling down, and they look worse than a third world country. The medians of our highways are crumbling. Our sidewalks are littered with garbage, bottles and trash, but worst of all, the discarded needles from people that so desperately are in need of help. And we have mobs of migrants fighting our police officers and giving America the middle finger."

“We are not going to let this continue," Trump vowed.

Trump said that NYC would come back.

“We are not going to abandon our hope and our pride," he insisted. "This city has given us so much and now it is time that we are going to give it back."

"Together, we are going to make New York City great again, and simultaneously, We are going to make America great again," Trump promised.

The crowd went wild again - in the historically bluest of blue cities.

Polls haven't been good for Joe Biden as of late.

Well the response to Donald Trump in the Bronx was a poll of sorts, too.
