Tim Walz's Minnesota Puts America Last - And That's Not Even the Half of It

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while. When I read The New York Times report last week on the Minnesota Feeding Our Future scandal, I honestly felt a mix of anger and confirmation. Anger, because this was a billion dollars meant to feed children that was looted in broad daylight. Confirmation, because this is exactly what so many of us have been warning about for years.

Under Tim Walz, Minnesota became the epicenter of one of the largest COVID fraud operations in the country. Nearly a billion dollars vanished. Dozens of people have been indicted. More than fifty have already been convicted. And federal prosecutors say some of that stolen money was sent overseas and ended up with Al Shabaab — a terrorist group. I still cannot believe the scale of it.

And what bothers me most is that it did not have to happen. People raised alarms. Whistleblowers spoke up. State officials looked the other way. And the same political class that created the problem now pretends to be shocked by the outcome.

There is a bigger issue here too, and it is one we are not allowed to talk about without being called every name in the book. But we should talk about it, because the country deserves honesty.

When immigration is poorly managed, poorly vetted, and completely disconnected from assimilation or accountability, entire communities break under the strain. Minnesota has been living through that for years. More than half of Somali immigrants in the state depend on government benefits. Employment numbers lag far behind the national average. Crime rates in certain enclaves are sky-high. Taxpayers pay for all of it, and politicians refuse to confront the reality.

President Trump did confront it, and he was right. He was right about Ilhan Omar. He was right about Walz. And he was right that you cannot bring large numbers of people from unstable, lawless countries into the United States without serious consequences.

His call for an immigration moratorium makes even more sense now.

And then this week, we saw the cost up close. An Afghan evacuee, brought into the country under Biden’s chaotic emergency intake program, shot two National Guardsmen. One is dead. One is still in the hospital. That should never happen. Not once.

When President Trump said that reverse migration has to be part of the solution, he was not being dramatic. He was being honest. We need the ability to send people back when the experiment fails, when the system breaks, and when the cost becomes unbearable for American families.

This is not about slogans. It is not about cruelty. It is about finally telling the truth about what is happening to our communities and our country.

We deserve security. We deserve honesty. We deserve a government that protects its people instead of lecturing them.
