Jesus, Take the Wheel: The Flag Made Her Feel Unsafe
Nothing says "I love this country" quite like telling millions of Americans that flying their own flag makes you uncomfortable. But here we are.

This week on "The View," co-host Sunny Hostin doubled down on a claim she first made back in 2021: that walking through a neighborhood covered in American flags makes her feel unsafe. The panel had been discussing a viral photo of masked white nationalists riding the D.C. Metro during Independence Day weekend, and Hostin used it as a springboard to declare that the Stars and Stripes itself has been "weaponized" by a fringe that most Americans have never even encountered.
"I suddenly feel unsafe because there's a section of this country that has co-opted the American flag."
A multimillionaire, Notre Dame-educated former federal prosecutor who lives in one of the wealthiest suburbs in New York is worried that your porch flag is a threat. Meanwhile, actual Americans -- military families, small-town neighbors, and folks who just like their country -- keep flying the flag anyway, blissfully unaware they're supposed to be scary.
Jesus, take the wheel!
