A Tale of Two Text Exchanges

ree

New York's Young Republican chapter has made headlines for off-colored, private messages they sent to one another through the club's Telegram group chat. These leaked messages included insensitive racial jokes and received immediate and total condemnation from the Republican apparatus, with New York Republican Congressman Mike Lawler saying, "Anyone involved in this disgraceful behavior should immediately resign from any leadership position and reflect on how far they've strayed from basic decency and respect."

On October 17, the executive committee of the New York Republican State Committee voted to suspend the state's Young Republican chapter.

Deserved or not, the story is incomplete without taking a look at how leaked, indecent texts of Democrats have been treated by their own party and the fake news media.

In Virginia, Democrat power brokers rallied support behind Attorney General candidate Jay Jones after old, atrocious texts of his surfaced. These text were about the then-Republican Speaker of the Virginia House of Delegates, Todd Gilbert and his children. Jones not only advocated for Gilbert's murder, but the murder of his 2 and 5-year-old children. After Jones received pushback from the recipient of the texts, he doubled down saying, "Only when people feel pain personally do they move on policy." He then went on to call the 2 and 5-year-old children "little fascists."

From Virginia Gubernatorial candidate Abigail Spanberger to Tim Walz, the Democrat Party has come to Jones' defense rather than denounce him. Walz even went so far as to declare that he won't call for Jones to drop out of the race, saying that he will "continue to support him."

The contrast is astounding: leaked texts of 20-somethings in a group chat making callous jokes received unequivocal condemnation; but leaked texts from a man running to be the top law enforcement officer in the Commonwealth of Virginia get swept under the rug.

The Left celebrate political violence and the media run cover by shining a light on nonsense stories. And of course, the RINOs on the Right are more than happy to play along.
