The Taxes Are Too Damn High

ree

This week, President Trump said “that at some point in the not too distant future, you won't even have income tax to pay, because the money we're taking in is so great!” He was talking about the tariff revenue, which has reached historic levels, around $370 billion according to the U.S. Debt Clock.

But with all of this new money, the U.S. is still running a massive deficit. Our national debt is well over $38 trillion dollars. And the kicker is that the money is being spent on things Americans don’t want or need, people that aren’t citizens, and corrupt politicians that line their pockets with taxpayer dollars like I discussed earlier this week in the Tim Walz-Minnesota scandal

Vice President JD Vance spoke during the cabinet meeting on Monday about the tough task of undoing the damage done by the Biden administration. Among his many points, Vance asked, “Why did homes get so unaffordable? Because we had 20 million illegal aliens in this country taking homes that ought, by right, go to American citizens.” He’s right. And the story goes a lot deeper than that. Take the Somali migrants in Minnesota that we talked about — the vast majority of them are on welfare, living in houses while Americans face a housing crisis, and receive food stamps while the country slips further into debt.

The United States needs to put on its own oxygen mask before rescuing the rest of the plane. You cannot fix world poverty by impoverishing Americans. And even if you could, you would have to be insane to try.

There should be one test for every policy in Washington:

Does this help the American people?

If the answer is no — like mass third world migration — then stop doing it.

If the answer is yes — like eliminating the income tax — then go faster.

So yes, I applaud the President for wanting to zero out the income tax. If he pulls it off, fiscal conservatives will finally get the wish we have had since Ronald Reagan first said hello.

And the IRS will have to find a new hobby besides ruining your day.
