The Cannon

Your blast of infotainment from ForAmerica.

After a month and a half into President Trump's second term, the Left continues to be mad. Their anger was on full display on Tuesday during Trump's speech to a joint session of Congress. Democrats protested in every which way: wearing pink suits, booing and hissing, holding up signs and paddles, and even storming out of the chamber. But not all the Democrats that left the room did it on their own free will. Texas Congressman Al Green took the protesting to a whole other level. His yelling and screaming that Trump "doesn't have a mandate" and that he's going to try and impeach the President didn't sit well with Speaker Mike Johnson who directed the sergeant at arms to remove the Congressman for breaking decorum, and was censured this past Thursday.

Apart from Al Green's outburst and Democrats refusing to clap for anything Trump said, the speech went off without a hitch. The President touted his accomplishments, including the freshly-secured southern border, which he said has had the lowest number of illegal crossings in history. It's a far cry from Biden's open border policy, which saw the most illegal immigration in our country's history. Democrats claimed they needed legislation to secure the border, however, as Trump pointed out in his speech - all Americans really needed was a new president. Vice President Vance's face says it all...

Despite Trump's success, Congress has yet to codify his executive orders - across the board - into law. Until Congress gets its act together, all the progress Trump has made can be wiped out the next time a Democrat sits at the Resolute Desk. This week, I joined Tim Constantine from The Washington Times and discussed the need for Congressional leadership to seize this opportunity to solidify everything the administration has achieved. We also talked about Trump's joint address to Congress, which had a 76% approval rating - making it clear the country is behind Trump.

Now, the Democrats did clap for one thing during Trump's speech. It wasn't, though, the 13-year-old cancer survivor or even the apprehension of the terrorist leader that masterminded the Abbey Gate attack during Biden's botched Afghanistan withdraw. The only time Democrats applauded was when Trump mentioned the billions of dollars in aid that the U.S. has given to Ukraine in the past few years. Disturbing? Sure. Surprising? Not at all. Trump derangement syndrome is an epidemic on the Left and the only cure is more winning.

Speaking of winning, peace may be on the horizon for the Russia-Ukraine war. The mineral deal that Trump is brokering with Ukraine and that will kickstart the peace process with Russia signifies to the world the U.S. is no longer going to fund never-ending globalist wars. For the first time in a long time, the U.S., if the mineral deal is agreed upon, will be getting something (rare earth minerals for microchips) in return for the help we've sent overseas to Ukraine. Not only that, we've even pushed European countries to start taking their security into their own hands again. As an example, Germany announced over $1 trillion in defense spending over the next decade. America is back, and we're dragging the world, kicking and screaming, with us.

Thanks for reading this week's news recap! Together, we're keeping America’s future on course - one post and one share at a time. Have a great weekend and remember... never give the Left a free day!
